After the crumbling of the Soviet empire, heroin flooded the streets of many cities behind the former Iron Curtain. It offered an alternative lifestyle largely unknown until then. In the late 1990s heroin addiction in Eastern Europe had reached epidemic proportions. Invisible takes place in Sofia, Bulgaria and follows a group of six young people on a three year journey through the highs and lows, dreams and tribulations of life with heroin addiction. The story bypasses the social problems and dynamics associated with addiction and focuses on the existential views and philosophy of the participants; it becomes a platform for their ideas a! nd concepts of the world surrounding them. The participants represent a group of "social outcasts", who remain largely invisible in society. They are members of a generation eager to discover and explore the new "commodities". Invisible is unprecedented in the intimacy with which it portrays its subjects. It presents perspectives influenced by euphoria as well as the sobering reality that follows, without passing judgments, without trivializing, denigrating, or exploiting it. Cocoon

A group of aliens return to earth to retrieve cocoons containing the people they'd left behind from an earlier trip. These cocoons had been resting at the bottom of the ocean. Once retrieved, they stored these recovered cocoons in the swimming pool of a house they'd rented in a small Florida town. Their mission is hampered by a number of elderly people from a nearby retirement community who had been secretly using the pool, and who discover unusual powers from within these cocoons. Antiques collector Maurice Hunter and his daughter Nadia and their Russian guides are in Siberia, on a search for the legendary Tesla death ray. This weapon has the ability to vaporize entire countries in the blink of an eye, and is responsible for the destruction of a half million acres of trees in Siberia in the 1950s. The ray is found in a cave full of bats, the Russian guides turn on the Hunters in an effort to steal ! the ray. Hunter uses the death ray to vaporize the Russian guides. Having found the ray, it must now be turned over to the CIA. First, Hunter and Nadia must get on a charter flight from Moscow to Canada with a bunch of American celebrities. The airplane is hijacked by a group of terrorists led by a man named Beck, who want the ray to use in a planned attack. But the jet crashes in Canada, and the passengers are stranded in the mountains of Alberta. The survivors include Hunter, Nadia, and Hunter's girlfriend Barbara. This film exists in two versions. The released version recreates Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and its aftermath. The longer, unreleased cut (which is rarely screened) brackets this material fi! ctional sequences. The introductory sequence shows Uncle Sam on vacation in Hawaii on December 6th. A character embodying the Voice of Responsibility warns him that ignoring Japanese immigrant Fifth Column activity will lead to disaster. The concluding sequence the ghost of a serviceman killed in the attack discussing how the US will beat the Japanese with the ghost of a Revolutionary War soldier in Arlington National Cemetary.
